This question has been asked time and time again. Figured I would create a poll to gauge an actual statistic. Only vote if you fall into one of the categories

For those who have kept either a coral beauty or a flame angel in your reef aquarium, what was your experience?

In my S650 (150g) I have a coral beauty, flame angel, regal angel, blue face angel, emporer angel and no issues at all, I may have forgotten someone….

But of course in depends on the individual fish

None of those angels nip or eat your corals ? Did you get super lucky or do we need to rewrite the fish books haha

I talk to them…..I say, don’t you ever eat those corals or I will be very cross with you….and so far……well no issues at all

Having said this, the emperor is getting bigger, changing to adult colours and would I put him in my big 530g heavy SPS tank. No, just in case he gets ‘hungry’!

The finger point is a good weapon to have

Coral Beauty 6 years no issues, BUT I have a sneaking suspicion ( via much opinion here), that either it , The Eibli Angel or both have a taste for Acan. Might try a small frag of Acan again and protect it from nipping ( acclimation box etc) , see what happens. Also might set up a recording when I not present... all other coral species just fine over the years...

Voted - Yes with no issues for Coral Beauty

Zero aggression to any fish

Zero aggression to corals and inverts

Beautiful fish !
+1 to this, this was my experience with both 3-4” CBs I owned.

Had a CB that never nipped at all. Due to tank size at the time I had to give him away though. Will be getting a new one soon.

Also kept a bicolor at some point that didn't eat coral at all. Was my first fish and lost it in a move unfortunately.

OK … I think too much … adding up the poll's results (at this time: 61.5% no problem and 46.2% select nipping) totals 107.7%?!?! o_O
