What is everyone thinking about the roughness of the screen? I'm thinking of going to joanns and getting a new plastic canvas and roughing it up with a hole saw. mine's pretty smooth.

I have very limited knowledge on algae scrubbers. Mine seems pretty good though. I seeded mine to give it an extra boost. I'll see how it goes

mines been running for a week, I seeded it with some turf algae from the walls of my fuge but it all washed away and the screen is as white as the day I got it.

Mine has been running for less than 24 hours and I'm already noticing growth at the spray bar. You have to zoom in but the dark spots are growth. I'm pretty excited

Depending on the size of the spray bar, turbo aquatic makes a great cover for it that will help prevent growth there, which is very helpful because that messes up the flow

Roughing up the screen some more will definitely help... but give it time fellas. It takes time for a new screen to mature. My Turbo’s ATS took 4-6 weeks for GHA to really take a foothold. In between, you’ll go though black and clear slime stages that you’ll need to wipe off during the screen maturation process, so be patient as it will take time.

My screen after about 5 or so weeks (on a brand new tank)...

My first real harvest after about 2 months...

It should still be able to sit over your 20mm header pipe and sit straight on it as it should be held in place when you close your lid.

You can also DIY a light blocker using PVC pipe. I built one for my Rain 2 ATS before I scored my Turbo’s ATS.

Do you have more GHA or turf? You have to thread it through the screen like you're sowing.
.
I put in a new roughed up screen and weaved in some turf algae from the old fuge wall. With the roughed up screen I can run the pump 100% (mj1200) and it flows down the screen much better. The smooth screen just didn't catch all the water from the spray bar but now it's perfect.

Glad to see my waterfall design from 2008 still getting good use. If I can help anyone let me know; all problems have been solved years ago.
Thanks for reaching out! It's awesome to see the community working together!

I cant say enough for coralvue. They have listened and worked with me throughout everything. They didnt just sell me a product and disappear. The support staff is shipping me new 20mm pvc and since end caps. They even asked if I would like it drilled or slotted. @Jeff@CoralVue thank you for all the help and support.

So in 5 days here is the new growth in the scrubber. It's really taking off. @waterdog I'm def going to be making the light blocker lol.

So
