Do you have a magnet inside the bottom of the reactor that provides the stirring?

No man anybody can do it. It is 6" diameter and 20" long. 12 volt fan held with countersink screws. Large washer epoxied to the fan's center with 2 rare earth magnets sitting on the outside edges. Inside is a 2.5" magnetic stir bar. I only give the fan 6 volts for a slow but fast stir as you can see in the video.
This is actually a large reactor for my small system. I put in a whole pound of kalkwasser and it could easily fit more if you wanted to.

More question or videos and I'll be happy to share. Great project on a budget, this thing for sure is as good if not better than all others i have ever seen because with a pump type you always have to worry about leaks down the road not to mention replacing the pump or the impellor. With my design the only thing needing to be replaced would be the computer fan but man those things can go for years and they are as cheap as dirt!

Really easy though. Since its a 6" diameter cylinder the footprint is 7"x7" so you just cut 2 of those for the bases and then just 2 pieces @ 7"x1.75" to make the table. Keep in mind everything is 1/4" acrylic so your table should be 2.025" tall. This is the most important step because if its too short then the magnetic pull is too great and your fan will not turn.

Awesome design that I'm SURE will be copied by the suppliers soon.
It really would help with all the darn impellors I have gone through because I put too much Kalk at the bottom of my reactor.

do you put anything between the acrylic and the magnet on the inside of the reactor to prevent wear?

no i dont really think its necessary because with acrylic being so strong and the reactor only being on maybe 1 minute a day total it will be many years before it starts to wear.
