hey guys I am so excited I just picked up a nikon d70 from a buddy for $300 bucks. he will be passing thru in a couple of weeks and will drop it off. I can't wait to get my hands on it....finally the macro shoots I have been wanting will be a reality...whoohoo.

if you have this camara post up some pics...no matter what they are of.

just what the camara came with when he purchased it...anything has got to be better than my crappy point and shoot samsung.

I just got a canon xsi and it is way better than the point and shoot I was using but doesn't take the macro shots I want with the lens it came with. I'm buying a macro lens in the next week or two and it will be another $400-500. So I think you will be happy but will not get the pics you're looking for until you get a macro lens. You got a good deal. I paid about $800 just a week ago after shipping and tax. Now to get the pics I want it will be another $400-500. So you're off to a good start and I look forward to seeing some pics with the new camera when you get it. We should start a beginner photo thread :) I feel like after getting my new camera I'm starting over again from the old point and shoot.

Remember guys, that macro lens you are speaking also makes an out of this world PORTRAIT lens. It is exceptionally sharp, and the long focus time won't matter as your subject is still.
