Just upgraded to a 55 gallon..

What are my options? the tank is a reef setup, and current stocking is as follows: Flame Angel, Yellow Watchman Goby, Two percula clownfish, peppermint shrimp, coral banded shrimp, various snails and hermits. Misc coral including a few LPS, SPS, and softies. The more colorful the better!

Ah, I think I was unclear. That is my current stocklist already in the tank transferred from a 30 gallon reef. I was curious what if any fish I may be able to add with the upgrade. The flame seems very happy about his extra space now though lol.

a nice flasher or small fairy wrasse would be nice to add just make sure you got a top!!!

ok, looked into some wrasses, and talked to my gf, looks like the next fish I add has to be blue lol. I liked the velvet fairy wrasse, and may go with that. Before I make a choice, are there any other blue fish that I could add to a 55 gallon with my current stock?

which velvet fairy are we talking about??..that is a common name for a few species the latin would help alot..a couple of them are very aggressive..and need to be housed with females to hold thier color better

yeah, I hadn't planned on a tang. The dwarf angel is the biggest thing I want in a 55.

This is the scientific name of the wrasse I was looking at Cirrhilabrus luteovittatus.
Looks like the colors can vary incredibly between individuals... =/ i've seen pictures of some yellow, some red, and some that are purple and blue(what I want)

Ive got a red fairy and yellow corris and they are very active fish fun to watch. Defiantly look into.

Cirrhilabrus luteovittatus is one of the ones that is known to be quite aggressive for a fairy..mostly to other wrasses but i kept one and others had the same stories about there attacking other fish..have seen a few not act like that..so i guess it could be hit and miss...these do lose alot of color without a female or two and i ahve only seen females for sale on these once but that was a month ago so maybe they are collecting them now.... the yellow streak will fade alot..i kept one because it came in as the wrong fish..i wanted a yellow flanked but i took it anyways and had to return it a few days later killed two fairys and a blue chromis

if you want colors like that check out c. lubbockii, c. rubrisquamis, c. aurantidorsalis, and even if you can find the vanuatu color varient of the c. punctatus..these all seem to hold thier color pretty good with out feamales..i have kept all of those and this is pics of them

I ended up with a purple pseudochromis, cute little booger, and his coloration is crazy bright! Would it be possible to add a second with a 55 with 80ish lbs lr? I've read a lot of mixed info on it, and seeing how small they stay I know my tank can handle it. Just don't want to add it if they are going to fight.

No..they will fight with each other..i would only try it if i had a really large tank...also you will not be able to add any fairy or flasher wrasses if you want one of those becuase of the pseudochromis will be aggressive to them as well

That's. Ok I'm not a big fan of wrasses for some reason. Too bad I can't add a second pseudochromis, I. Really am surprised at the active personality and coloration of them.
So the current stock list is now
Flame angel, two true percs, yellow watchman goby, coral banded shrimp, peppermint shrimp, purple psuedochromis, serpent star and various coral.
As far as fish that is an idealistic max correct?

For anybody looking into a 30 gallon.. do yourself a favor and go 55, my fish are much more active in the larger tank!

look at the allen damsel about 3" full grown bright blue dark fins very active
also check out the green manderin very colorful but a rock dweller
