Ok, so as promise (although a couple of days late), here's some updated photos.

A couple of things I've notice so far:
  • Polyp extension is ok.....even the coral that "stretch" to get to light when it's too low seem happy (like zoas). So while I don't have a PAR meter on hand to technically test, my "how do my corals seem to be reacting" measurement is pretty good so far.
  • They've been running fine and maintaining their schedule even after simulated power outages.
  • Light still looks good over the tank aesthetically, plus the shimmer is always nice.
Anyway, here's the pics:
(And yes, if I'm going to keep using my cell phone for tank/coral pics, I need to get a filter! haha!)

So new update today!

I'll add in a FTS and a pic of my favorite pet (today....hahaha!)

So far, still loving the lights. I'm not really seeing shading issues yet, but it's only been a couple of weeks, so I'll give it more time and make sure to update if I see any issues. Actually, a couple of my corals' color is changing a little and their brightening up, so that's a good thing I think!

The color and brightness for transitions works well and even with leaving them on all night (1% for moon light effect) there's no heat issues with lights or power supplies.

Received the Noopsyche K7 Pro II's today (a day earlier than tracking said it would get here.....that was a nice surprise). Many thanks to the folks over at Noopsyche for giving me the opportunity to test out these lights!

As soon as I got home, I dug into them and started seeing how they were boxed, the "feel quality", and made sure everything was there.

First off, they were packed pretty well. Nothing was damaged and everything looked perfect. I did miss the controller at first, it was in the same box as one of the mounts and I overlooked it in my haste/excitement. If you're interested, I did a quick unboxing video you can find HERE (It might be kind of boring, I'm not a blogger/videographer at all...haha!)

After unboxing, I powered up both lights to make sure they'd come on, they did. Mine flickered a little on initial power up, but only a couple of times....so no big deal I don't think. It could be the power connector to the light....one of them was a little loose, so I re-seated it a couple of times and it seems to be ok. If it comes loose, I'll just reconnect and give it a quick wrap with electrical tape.

**EDIT- after messing with them for a few minutes the next day, I figured out that if I twisted and pushed them harder (much harder than you would normally connect 2 cables together), they slipped together and formed a nice seal around the connection.

Next, I fiddled with the controller to figure out how to set it up. The instructions that come with the light can be a little confusing, and may be a little frustrating for some, but they're definitely good enough for me to figure out out to set it up. It's actually quite easy to connect the lights to the controller and to adjust the settings. Much easier than other lights I've used that have controllers similar to this one.

I didn't create my own manual settings, I used the automatic settings for SPS/LPS and then adjusted them just a little to try and make sure I don't fry my coral (I'm coming from T5's with XHO strips). I'll keep an eye on them over the next few days/weeks and make adjustments as needed.

Here's a pic of the tank right after I connected the lights (no tweaking, just SPS/LPS automatic setting)

I will say this, my wife LOVES Them!!!! She likes the way the tank looks with them and she hated the ATI T5 fixture I had hanging over the tank. And to that, I will say that the tank has a bit of a shimmer to it with these lights. Nothing not quite a Kessil shimmer, but it's still nice, and a lot more than I expected.

My initial thoughts are this:
  • Small footprint, very clean look over the tank
  • Lighting looks "clean and sharp", gives a little shimmer to the tank
  • Shipped well and arrived quickly
  • Fairly easy setup
  • Light seems to run a little hot, but not really hotter than the AI Hydra 26 HD's I had before
  • Spread is pretty good, I'll hold off commenting on it until I've seen them running a little more and see how my tank responds.
I'll update this thread at least once a week, so check back and see how it's going!
So Im confused. Im doing auto for sps and lps. Im gone for a good part of the day so I changed the time on 2 of them. I have setting 1 at 1159 and setting 7 at 2001 for times. I dunno what to put setting 3 and 4 on and the light settings. It was recommended to not go over 50% to start off with. This is going on a 32 gal Coral life Biocube
