Can Kanaplex be used in a display tank that has no coral if the tank is then allowed to run for eight weeks after treatment and be considered safe for coral addition?

I never had an issue using it in my tanks. I usually used it with focus in a food soak along with some garlic.

Kanaplex does dissipate and should be safe for later addition of coral but do a good water change when done using the kanaplex

The problem is that kanaplex is degraded - and a tank with lots of rock/coral will dissipate differently in one tank as compared to another. So, while you can do it, it's not recommended to do it - but rather put the fish into a hospital tank, and treat with nothing except a sponge filter. Generally, the dosing is every 48 hours for 3 doses. but since it's product dependent I won't go into more specifics. Kanaplex does not hurt (most) corals - and is used by some to treat STN RTN. Best wishes
