I have setup another soft coral tank with the main focus around some peaceful fish and a goby/pistol shrimp, the tanks plan is mainly invert heavy with soft corals. I have never owned a kessil light and I'm wondering if i can light up a tank enough with 2 A160WE's for soft corals.

The tank is a 36x18x24 (tall 40 breeder)

Also i would gladly take other suggestions to light the tank. On my other tanks I have a mix of hydra 32s/prime16s/xr30s

I even thought about the new hydra edge for the shimmer

Thanks
Bill

I have a single Kessil A160 on my new peninsula, have it mounted ~ 10'' from water level. Actual tank is around 17'' tall. Currently has just a few LPS and soft corals. Corals are looking great, hammer is already splitting new heads, and I really like the shimmer it produces in the tank.

Be sure to get the controller for it though so you can set the light cycle and have it run autonomously. I can't speak for the other lights, but the 160 does the job good for me.

Area of coverage for:
24" x 24" Soft Coral/ Lightly Planted
18" x 18" Mixed Reef & Moderately Planted

This is according to their site. I have an A360x I like it, It does not have as deep blue that some like, but I get some good color with it. I would assume it is very similar but you do not have the same color control with the A160WE. For example the A360x has color, Intensity, Violet, Red, and Green. The A160 looks like it only has the Color and intensity settings. With that being said I think if you put two over the top evenly spaced maybe a little overlap in the middle you will have nice simmer on the edges, and a little more par in the middle. This might give you a bit more options in the future should you choose to add LPS or SPS.

Video of the A360x winding down for the day.
