Are two Kessil a160we good for a 55 gallon tank, as of now I have only two USA orbit marine lights that are….. ok for coral. I want a light good for sps lps and softies and I like the kessil but I don’t know if two will be enough. I don’t want to spend over 700 for lights I’m kind of on a budget.

The problem with a 55 gallon is that they are very deep. I would not recommend the a160we for those if you want SPS. You would need the a360 or a360x for those. I would suggest getting a handful of reef brite strips (4 or so lumi lite or maybe 3 lumi lite pros). There are other options too, but this is nice for the price. Noopsyche lights may also be a good choice for the price.

How do you want to mount the lights.?

I have 2 kessil A160wes over my 4ft RS reefer 350. I don't have SPS but hammers, elegance and GSP have been doing fine so far at 50% intensity. Tank about 5 months old.

I sometimes wonder if I should increase intensity but don't want to introduce algae.
