I've had a 9/10 experience with it. My corals seem to love it but at first I didn't have a par meter so I put it at 70% which was a big mistake because the par was sky high. Fortunately none of my corals died

I now have three over my Redsea reefer 525xl and my sps love them. I’m only at 30 percent intensity and working up slowly.

Just got some PAR readings today…

AP9X on IM30L 10” from water surface at 65% intensity…

If you’re not familiar with the IM30L, it is about 13” high…

Top center 300-315

Bottom center 220-245

Bottom left 75-100

Bottom right 75-100

Really happy with the light and the results that I got today.

I run an AP9X on my RSR 350 and it is doing a great job at 23 % color and 23% intensity. I tried turning it up for a couple days and coral did not seem as happy. I run the light 8" above the water surface and have a mixed reef with softies on the sides and SPS in the center 2' of the tank and everything is happy. Zoa's like it best on the bottom center to slight side of the tank. Monti's are growing great anywhere in the 2' area and Digi's close to center at the top. I replaced the my A360WE TB with it and am very happy.

Thanks for posting. I'm also looking at a pair of these for my IM 100 EXT.

I'm thinking of getting the same light for the IM30L. Is there light overspill, and if there is, how bad is it?

I am very happy with it, so is my mixed tank. Very powerful light, almost too powerful. I run at 45% , 10” from top of water. A par meter is a must have with this light.

I have the same tank and same light so interested in sharing PAR results with you after I get a meter and see how similar they are (both at 10" from the top of the water).

Great light, i’ve set up another tank with eco-tech radions blues and definitely prefer the look of the AP9X . But had a different plan with the newer tank and now regretting the decision of using the radions, but I have to honestly say the corals are growing faster with the radions.

I have an AP9X on my 75g 4'. Apogee PAR meter supposed to show up today from Amazon so will see how that goes. Way back when I first got it I cooked a montipora at 100%. I may have also cooked a galaxea on the frag holder but he seems to still be alive. I've been running default settings for a month now and it seems to be underpowered from initial observations of some zoanthids that are reaching for light. Only one way to tell...

My best PAR measurements came at 50% intensity for mixed reef 12" off the surface. This is a powerful light.

I wanted to use either 2 A360x or 2 A500X on my Red Sea 350. I think 2 A500X would be overkill. But now im thinking of trying 1AP9X now.

Interested in knowing what your readings where at those settings
