I feel that I am losing the battle with aiptasia. Has anyone used straight vinegar and won the war? I would really appreciate hearing what has worked for you. Don' think peppermint shrimp would work because some thing in my aquarium eats them. HELP!

I've used Aptasia - X, they disappear for a while but come back again. I tried some Peppermint but they didn't last with my Wrasse around. I added a Copper Band Butterfly not for the sole reason of eating the Aptasia I just loved the fish. He ate them at first but now that he's well fed he doesn't touch them anymore and they are starting to spread. My last resort is getting some Berghia Nudibranch, all they eat is Aptasia nothing else. I was reluctant in the past because they are expensive and worried about the Wrasse eating them. After a little research I found that they are nocturnal so crossing paths with the Wrasse is unlikely because he's in the sand an hour before the lights go out and from what I've heard is they taste lousy to the fish. I plan on placing an order in the coming weeks when the temp warms up bit and don't have to worry about cold temperatures and delivery.

I use Aptasia -X also but I have to stay consistent with it and when you put it on the Aptasia itself you mush make sure your injecting all around the surface of the Aptasia cause it's first ration is to spit its eggs out. It will seem that it's not helping but it does if used correctly

What I noticed with aptasia x it works for me but also comes back in the weeks what is started to do was inject it with a needle. And cover the area the aptasia was at like previous poster said also found some new ones in a different area I have read about people using kalk slurry and injecting them with that tried it last night see what it does later today

I have thought about some nudibranchs but have no one to pass them on to in this area. Can't stand to watch them die after doing a good job.

I used aptaisia x in combination with peppermints. Coulnt tell you what solved the issue but the combination worked. To be fair i only had like 5-10 individuals.

How large is your Aquarium
How long has it been set up..
I used a multi attack....
Put in 10 peppermint shrimp, a Tank Raised File fish (fed on Aiptasia) and a Copper Band Butterfly fish. They will not eat large ones. You need to get them with Aiptasia x. Cover them with calk or other manual method...

After looking for an organic option, i went with Chem-Marine Stop Aipstsia and got the syringe. After 6 weeks of aggresive application and using over half the bottle, they were gone. One showed up six months later and i used it again. i dont currently see any in my tank.

Get yourself Berghia Nudibranch. They work wonders. One ate every aptasia I had in a 700 gallon reef tank.

I’ll second the berghia nudibranch. Also syringe with vinegar works well for the few randoms.

If you notice them early and don't have very many you can use some underwater epoxy to cover them up.
