Forgot to cut the timer in before I painted the fixture but here is what it looks with the timer in the fixture. I used a jigsaw with the finest metal blade I could find to cut it. A great template to use the face plate to draw out the rectangle or measure like I did because I didn't have a plate. The switch I bought came with a face plate. A little touch up on the fixture and I'll be painting the inside in a bit. I'm also painting the switch black so hopefully it sticks.

I also bought three foot pc plugs to plug in the transformers for my radions. I cut off the prong side to I can hard wire them to the original fixture plug pigtail

I would also swap the ballasts for some programmed start ones since you took the whole thing apart. Home Depot sells Philips ICN-4S54Ts for cheap.

I think I'll wait for these ballasts to give first

In the future would require a complete rewire as workhorse requires shunted endcaps vs unshunted for programmed so you would need to take the entire thing apart to do a programmed start rewire. The Philips is $40 at home depot. That alone is worth it not having to change out bulbs in a year vs 6 months with what you have now. $40 now saves you more than double in the long run.

I'm not to worried about rewiring it in the future. I'm a licenced electrician so rewiring a strip light is not a real issue for me. Sure the bulbs may go out quicker but I'm only considering running them about half the time of my leds

Putting it back together all I need to do now is wire everything and install the leds. Coming along slowly

You may notice the hole on the top where the switch timer was unfortunately I had to remove because the switch was to big and my reflector wouldn't go on. I solved by going with my backup plan of using the daisy chain plug and a plug in timer. I ran a wire out to the plug and it is my new switch. Good thing about this is if I ever want to make the timer wireless I can

Just pictures of the final piece over my tank. One with lights off, one with just t5s, one with just the leds, and one with them both on. I'll have to get a picture later this weekend with the actual settings I have set for my leds.

On a side not if you use the radion g4s (I can't sat this for any other generation of radion because I've only owned the g4) the receive end on the fixture for the screw is held in by a tiny little Allen head screw. Stupidest design in my opinion three of them for loose on the leds and i thought I lost one but it was still attached to the screw so be very careful if using these radions
