My tank recently crashed. I restarted the tank and plugged everything back in but the doser for the lanthium got left in the on position and dosed into the new saltwater.

Probably 1/2 gallon dosed into 200 gallons of new saltwater.

I drained the tank last night but there is a whitish residue on the tank walls and sump.

How throughly do I need to clean this tank before I fill it again?

Bummer man!

I would personally just clean the glass and maybe wipe down any other places that have residue built up, and then fire it back up.

I plan to but I can’t reach the overflow box and the back end of the sump. That’s why I wanted to judge how much of the equipment needs to be ripped out again

The saltwater it dumped into had no phosphate to remove is my worry. Does it turn into something else without phosphate?

Lanthanum carbonate would also precipitate, then a lot of lanthanum probably stayed in solution.

So emptying the tank is all that is needed. If I miss some white percipient isn’t a huge deal
