Very low ammonia, high nitrites, moderate nitrates.

This happened in 4 hrs, it was good before that. Is the light by any chance?

Looks like the tissue is receding for sure... losing its color no doubt.

Any big changes parameters wise? What are those params at?
I was adding salt to the tank, there was some on top it and I used a baster to blow it off, maybe that caused it? Maybe it absorbed the salt?

Yes, and I feel like it wasn't a good idea now lol. My tank is new with only rocks and fishes. Just that one coral from my old tank..

You shouldn't add salt directly to a tank unless you just filled it with RODI maybe the salt irritated or killed part of the leather, also what do you mean by "low ammonia" ammonia should always be 0

As per the API test kit, the Ammonia has very slight hint of green. So I am guessing there should be something there. Also it depends on when I test as well.

Yeah, I realized that. Also I am pretty sure when salt mixes with RODI, it creates some sorta heat. Man I f'd up

So now you know, but when trying to raise the salinity in the tank you should NEVER add salt directly to if possible. Water changes are your best friend in raising the salinity in your tank, because more than likely everything already is dealing with shock of low or high salinity, but by doing water changes they can work themselves back into stable parameters and be much healthier.

Addind salt directly in can irritate, burn, and do much more to inhabitants of the tank.

Learned it the hard way, dang!!
Lessons learned, thats this hobby.

Regardless though, if you do in the future need to alter your salinity level, whether higher or lower, just mix a batch of fresh saltwater to mirror what you need...

Low salinity 1.023-- make a batch at 1.027
High salinity 1.028 -- make a batch at 1.024

Doing water changes like that can help combat salinity issues, as well as having a trustworthy ATO (auto top off)

Yeah, I am battling the salinity for my current tank as well as Nitrites.

I have my ato setup and stuff.

I feel the toadstool will comeback though (fingers crossed, since this never happened before), I have had them for a while and they are pretty weird and hardy lol

I am testing it using Apex Salinity probe and refracto just to make sure.

I keep calibrating them to be as accurate as possible.
