I got this leather from a friend and it has been struggling ever since I got it. It started to show some polyps. Today the polyps were out but than closed up as soon as lights came on. I took a few pictures because it was slimming a bit and I noticed there are like streaks of where the color looks faded.

Any idea what might be going on? All other coral in the tank seems fine. The pic showing polyps was from Monday and the other two from today.

Leathers are a funny coral, that looks normal actually for a new home for the leather. They can look like that for a couple weeks at a time so don't worry too much right now. What are your water parameters and lighting?
