I had a major tank calamity a couple days ago which resulted in all of the inverts in my tank dying. Not sure exactly what happened yet, but the first thing that happened was all of my corals closing up. They’ve been like this for several days now. This is (was?) a colony of about seven different zoa species, and some clove polyps.

I’m a total newbie and don’t know if this is likely to recover or if I need to worry about it rotting and poisoning the tank. I’d appreciate your thoughts. If you want to know about the tank calamity check my post history.

Did you know if anything contaminated the water column? Pest control, air freshener dorays, kids, etc?
I used RO water that ended up testing under 20 TDS. I’m wondering if those numbers were due to contaminants in the container, which had previously held salt (didn’t even think about this until this morning). Also used a small amount of silicone grease on pump fittings. Otherwise nothing obvious I’m aware of.
