This is just for my clown tank.
My reef tank is sth else. The current lightning is metal h but i think the light is very much for it(and you know the heat and enerjy it consume)
And recently im dealing with cyano bacteria that i think is because of the intensity of metal lamp.3 of my corals died during 3 months.
And im sure about no3 and other things the only thing remains i think is the lightning.

Maybe buy most of the time I associate Cyano with a build up of Organics. Do you run a Carbon reactor?
Cyano has been my arch nemesis for my entire reef hobby! I normally don't get it that bad but it always seems to come back when I'm not running carbon for a long period of time. Although I don't like constantly running carbon either. It's all about balance. [emoji4]

Well you can get cheaper ones, like Reef Breeders sells the diodes that come with their fixture https://www.reefbreeders.com/leds/
The other ones I put a link to are just higher end leds. There's also a lot more options for colors and watts. I'm no Led expert though. I have thought about building my own lights before though. Always ended up thinking it'd be smarter and more cost effective to buy a fixture.

From my research I found out for the amount of work plus milling difficulties that it is more practical to buy Fixtures already built with a warranty.

By the Way I'm an Electronic Tech with milling skills and I wouldn't go there even if I had ALL the Equipment to mill properly. (A drill press alone isn't enough)
