Yes I have the 180 & 240 and changed both to 120 optic`s

IMO I think your light is too strong for a 40b, with only 16" of depth 180w is ALOT! I only ran 36 cree 3w LED's above my 55 and now they're on my 120 and doing fine.

The comment earlier about the kessils is correct though, unfortunately most people are unable to get ahold of a kessil due to the price, and it seems most other manufacturers aren't producing anything under one single lens like that.

Well I do have 120 optics and like I've been saying I cannot put anything center tank. Nor can I run the whites any higher than 20% max. Everything bleaches.
So why would your's be any different?

Do not know the answer to that one , I`m running the 180 on a 60gal and 240 on a 65 long when I run my lights at 20% W and 40% B Par reads low 100`s

I realize they are strong. But doesn't the option of adjusting the intensity enable me to compensate for that?

I have 2 black boxes 120w over a 55 and I can't turn mine up offer 25% this thread has my interested in removing dinner of the optics as well. Ill be following along.
