I want to switch to LED for my 90 gallon tank which has LPS corals in it right now and will soon be used for sps too. I was looking at the Current USA Orbit Marine Aquarium LED but my worries were that it didn't look like it would put out enough light for sps and other corals also if the corals would just live in this light or if this light would help them grow too. i would put two trulumen led strips with it. and if that wouldn't be enough what other LED lights do you think i should take a look at in a price range around the current USA price. The Current USA only had white and blue leds on it so i don't know if other leds would have a broader spectrum. Thanks for the help

also the tank is 48 inches long and 24 deep so do you think the light would penetrate down to the bottom

LEDs for SPS and LPS

I want to switch to LED for my 90 gallon tank which has LPS corals in it right now and will soon be used for sps too. I was looking at the Current USA Orbit Marine Aquarium LED but my worries were that it didn't look like it would put out enough light for sps and other corals also if the corals would just live in this light or if this light would help them grow too and also the tank is 24 inches deep so if it would reach to the bottom or not. i would put two trulumen led strips with it. and if that wouldn't be enough what other LED lights do you think i should take a look at in a price range around the current USA price. The Current USA only had white and blue leds on it so i don't know if other leds would have a broader spectrum. Thanks for the help:bigsmile:

A better investment would be some reef breeders value led fixtures .You need alot more wattage than 35 watts which I think that fixture has.I am positive if you get some sps you will have to upgrade from that current usa light .Better pay more now and have the light last longer.

It will go through the acrylic, but overtime that acrylic will become very messy and you'll have to buff out the salt creep mess and scratches in order for the light to penetrate properly.
