So I took an involuntary 3 year break from the hobby and thinking about getting back into the hobby again since the tank and equipment is sitting there anyways and it really broke my heart when I had to tear it down. One of the things on my wishlist of changing on my current setup is changing the 400W MH setup I have over my current 250G tank to a LED setup to cut down on power consumption since it basically added an additional $100 to my usual electric bill. For those people that have made the switch, can you share your savings on the switch? The current setup is 3 400W bulbs over the tank.
When I left the hobby, LED lights were still just being introduced and I haven't been keeping up with technology. I enjoy growing SPS corals previously so I'm looking on recommendations for what type of lights to get. The dimensions of my tank are 6' x 2.5' x 3'. Any help would be appreciated as I take my first tepid steps back into the hobby.
Thanks
