I am looking at some led DIY kits and wondering what the red and the UV leds will help.in the aquarium

The reds will bring out the reds and oranges in the corals, the violets work more on the blues/purples. Use 3-4 reds per 24" of tank, and as many violets as you want, I would od at least 2-4 per 24" of tank.
