So I picked up a male and female leopard wrasse and I put them in the display after acclimation and my sixline went ballistic. Two days later I finally had to remove the sixline because he almost killed the male and the female has not shown her face since so I dont know if she is hiding or he killed her.I know all new fish go through the pecking order but in nine years I have never seen a fish so hell bent on killing another fish.Anyone else have problems with there sixlines?I never did before untill these leopards were introduced.
A couple shots of the male

one of the meanest fish i ever owned. he'd hit fish so hard and fast it would blow the color right off them, like a torpedo. he's gone now.

Sixlines can go completely insane. Mine attacks his reflection relentlessly. If you take the sixline out and then wait a few days and put him back in, might be okay.

Its a bad idea to mix lined wrasses with any other wrasses really. They are very mean and with how easily Leopards are stressed, I would suggest getting rid of one or the other. I bet your leopards wont win this one.

6line are KNOWN aggressors to ANY wrasse you add with them or similar looking fish that they would think would COMPETE WITH THEM.

I love wrasses (especially leopards), but will never own another 6 line. I'd have gone fishing for a 6 line if it harassed my leopards;). My mystery has been a model citizen. It's getting bigger much quicker now, but no aggression yet (it lives with a meleagris leopard).

yup -- it's hit or miss w/ the six lines. The first one we had was a little killer. The second one we had.... another killer. The one we have now is great -- and we also have a leopard wrasse in the tank w/ him.

More times than not 6 line wrasses are little jerks. I would not attempt to add it back to the tank...

Thanks guys.I removed the sixline(via fish trap) and threw him in my frag tank,he now shares it with my falco hawkfish, who also had a problem with the female leopard. Its weird the 6 line had no problem with the female leopard but the hawkfish did.And then the hawkfish had no problem with the male but the 6 line did.pheww,I give up:)

I guess I could say its a pain in the wrasse.

Once again thanks everybody for your opinions

Leopard wrasses are usually extremely timid, in contrast to most Pseudocheilinus wrasses. I would have predicted the outcome you described when you introduced the leopards. My Mystery wrasse is becoming a pain, chasing my fairy wrasses around in spurts. Eventually, I will trap it out for good!
