I just recently purchased this Leptastrea Coral and noticed these weird black nostril looking things and was wondering what exactly they were they open and close and was wondering if there part of the Leptastrea Coral or what they. Thanks

Those are weird looking for sure! Have you seen anything coming out of them? [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG] any ideas?
 
They open up and close they look very similar to a clams mantel and react to movement or light change by closing and opening.
 
That first picture definitely looks like it has a shell type feature in the hole. It looks to me like a Piddock Clam or something similar is living in your coral structure.
 
ill snap a pic of the few I have in the fuge and post for your reference also. They are just rock burrowed tho not coral encrusted so you can see most of the structure but should give you an idea for cross reference
