I've been meaning to start a build thread for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. So I have some catching up to do. This is my first build thread, but the build has been in progress for a few months. Moving along slowly but surely. To start off, I currently have a 150 gallon display that...
The flow in my 150g display is not where it should be. I recently increased my return pump's flow from 100gph to 800gph and have seen a noticeable improvement in coral health and growth rates. I know my flow is still low, and would love to get some high quality variable flow instead of static flow from my cheap powerheads. Plus the magnet mount sounds amazing! about once every 3-4 months one of my suction cup powerheads falls and kicks up a ton of sand
Not the best picture, but at top right of the picture I have (2) aqueon 950 power heads providing flow to my tank. They don't have much in the way of strainers, so they need cleaned off 1-2 times a week. They are also under-performing their claimed flow rate by alot. My return pump, which has measured at 800 gph is putting out about twice the flow as the aqueons.

FYI - Water is added on 6/30/2018 (pg 9);) I'm way too excited to get this started. I bought the system from someone who had it running as a FOWLR. I've got a 55g running with the fish that came with it. Sailfin tang Hippo Tang Clownfish Chromis I'm not sure of tank brand, but it is 72" x 19" x...
