That was quick, thanks! So should I expect more colors to show up as it grows? It's still quite small (around 1.5-2".
Yeah, it's a transitional male, so it will continue to get better yet.

It was sold as a Johnsons, but I didn’t want to bias your identification. Hopefully it doesn’t surprise me as an Isosceles.

It is definitely in that complex. It could still be johnsoni - I just thought I saw the central part of the dorsal looking like it's starting to elongate.

You'll know for sure in a few months!

Is this tail clear enough to be ID as Melanurus Wrasse? I think so but this is my first and only possible Melanurus Wrasse. TIA

No, not yet still. chrysotaenia and melanurus look identical at that stage still.
