Yeah, it's a transitional male, so it will continue to get better yet.That was quick, thanks! So should I expect more colors to show up as it grows? It's still quite small (around 1.5-2".

It is definitely in that complex. It could still be johnsoni - I just thought I saw the central part of the dorsal looking like it's starting to elongate.It was sold as a Johnsons, but I didn’t want to bias your identification. Hopefully it doesn’t surprise me as an Isosceles.

No, not yet still. chrysotaenia and melanurus look identical at that stage still.Is this tail clear enough to be ID as Melanurus Wrasse? I think so but this is my first and only possible Melanurus Wrasse. TIA
