How about some updated clam photos? I posted a shot of my crocea in this thread in 2019. Last week my clam reached its 5th anniversary with me. ;Happy I really hope to be able to keep it for another 5 years (assuming I still have a tank by then).

I’d love to see some recent shots of everybody else’s clams. :D

I got a clam today, my first attempt at one. After a while of making sure my tank was ready, I saw a beautiful deresa in with 3 croceas. I got it thinking it was just a blue deresa but oh wow, I got home and acclimated it and it was a beautiful gold, with a iridescent outline.
Here’s the clam in acclimation.

My original intent was to grab a crocea but I read somewhere these are easier than croceas are. I may eventually regret it due to the size they can get (My largest tank is a 4’ tank - Im letting it grow in my Max Nano). So far my blue star leopard wrasse has left the clam alone. Cant get a great photo of the mantle yet though as he’s acclimating to my lights.

He’s out early in the morning, I assume he’s enjoying the natural sun that hits that side of the tank as his mantles further out than it was yesterday. Attempted a top down but he closed up.

Nice clams. I don't have any clams now, but had many back 20 years ago. A clam spawning event actually was catalyst in the demise of my tank :downcast-face-with-sweat:

All of those are beautiful, I assume you were mostly owning maxima and deresa?

Where did u find that lil cherry
A big German online coral site. Every now and then they get some beautiful clams. That said, this was hands down the most beautiful squamosa I've seen there. Could send you more details, but since you're in the US I guess you won't be able to order there.
I've not been able to make a good topdown shot, when I do I'll be sure to post it here :)

Your Derasa is amazing btw! Such a hypnotizing pattern :face-with-spiral-eyes::D
