I think I enjoy my fuge as much as my display.

20% of my total volume, including an old school 5" DSB. Wave Point T-5 HO, 4-bulb 96watt fixture w/whites, actinic and purple. I keep cheato, dragons breath, Caulerpa brachypus and some unidentified reds. Tons of gammarus amphipods, and more.

I use a small Ehiem surface skimmer, which has fallen out of place at the moment.

I found the BRS investigative video on Chaeto very informative regarding refugium size, contact time and nutrient export.

Mine is a 50 breeder, deep sand bed, I had chaeto but then this red gracilaria took over. There's some kind of sea grass all over the sand too, I ordered a cup of mud from someplace a while back and it must have been in that.

The light is a marshydro mars 300

I have a 30 gal all in one system in which I dedicated a baffled column to refugium space. I have ~4 lbs of LR with some caulerpa, and codium macro algaes. I've got it underneath a red light Solar Flare... gotta do what you gotta do

Does anyone see any issues mixing different types of macro, I currently have chateo and calupera, but want to mix some of the red algae's in to add some color.

I'm planning on setting up a tank specifically for macros. Still debating if it will be tied into a larger system as nutrient export or if it will be its own system that uses water from water changes on the main system.

Multiple macro types are doable, it really depends on what you want to do.

Update on the macro reactor. Almost 1 week of it being up and the algae has almost doubled in size in the reactor and my nitrates have lowered from around 8-10ppm to down near 4ppm. This thing is AWESOME.
