Ive seen couple of places online reporting that the Light Bulb Anemone comes from Gulf waters. Reports along the Florida and TX coast. I have recently ordered 20 LBs of LR from Gulf Live Rock. The owner Dan claims what I have is a lightbulb anemone. Im posting Screen shots of what I found online and pics of what anemone came on my LR. I would like your opinion on how to differ between LB Anemone and possible Majano.
Tank You!

Does anyone live around the Gulf of Mexico and can attest to this?

I rolled the dice and put in DT. It looks very similar to the pics that report LB anemones and the guy who sold me the Rock told me it was.
He also said this looks like a Curley Que anemone. There are a few pics where this looks like Aiptasia with the white rings but again Dan (GLR) reports their is no Aiptaisia in the gulf waters near Tampa Bay. Thoughts on this guy.

I’m going to do a new post on all the other corals and such I got on the LR. It was loaded.
Tanks,
BD

I know nothing about where aiptasia's natural habitat is, but that sure looks like aiptasia; I've never seen another anemone with white rings and thin tentacles like that.

I recently bought some Florida Live rock and have two small anemone on them none are aiptasia. One there behavior is not like aiptasia. I never seen aiptasia hide they are out in the open where the Bubble or Lightbulb anemone hides in its little hole it has then when it senses brine shimp or mysis shrip it comes out.

The first looks like a lightbulb anemone, the last one looks like an exaptasia species. Which is a pest anemone very similar to aptasia species.

and trust me, they absolutely do spread like aptasia.

This guy came on a piece of rock from the gulf. I concluded it was a lightbulb anemone as well. So far it has grown quickly and been a great addition to my display.
