Question on this light I found. I’m just starting out and want to see if this light would be ok for some soft corals in my 37 gallon?

Marineland ML90621-00 Reef LED Strip Light, 24-Inch

If not, help on a good budget friendly light option would be helpful. Thanks.

Hard to say. Very limited info.
Amazon product

The amount of cool white vs blue and just those 2 colors is a bit err "outdated".

Not to mention using 1w LEDs apparently.
Probably ran lower than 1w.

Did find some manuf. specs except the 90621 is not listed.

Don't know if it is new or a discontinued model/size.

I'm m a neutral party but doubt if you will get few here to endorse it.

Your tank approx. 30x12x 22-ish?
Finding cheap good 30" bar lights is a bit of a challenge.

Marineland/Beamswork are similar products. Most black box LEDs are the same principal but use 3w LEDs and modern ones add some red/green.

Those blue/ white designs are a bit "universal" i.e fw or saltwater useable
Useable for both, great for neither.

Hey Matt,

That will work only if you plan on keeping soft corals like mushrooms, Kenya trees (Satan in Coral form) etc.

That Marineland is almost 100% white LED's which isn't good. If you're on a budget, take a look at this one and you would have no trouble growing Softies and LPS.

Not sure if this fits your budget friendly definition but, if it were me I'd go with this if you are open to something other than LED

Well I would like to stay under 250-300. I was just in a store looking at the ai blade 30” coral grow light for 225$ wonder if that’s a better route

That is certainly an option.

I recently upgraded my Lights on my 32 gallon tank and I used the Orphek OR3 60 bars. I believe they are $160 if you shop around. I like the colors.
