Lighting for 30L innovative marine

Is two hydra 26hd a over kill on this tank. I want to have a mix reef tank. Mostly sps on top and bottom lps. The tank is 13 inches tall and 36 inches long.
I was thinking ai prime but I stumbled 2 hydra 26hd with mounts for 500. 7 months old.

I don’t think it’s overkill, but I do thinks it’s possible to achieve what you would like with less.
If that’s what you want to set up though, then I’d just do it. ;)

I would recommend having more source points vs fewer if you have sps in mind. I think 2 26’s at 50% would do better than 2 primes at 100% despite the wattage being the same because of the shadowing.
But it’s really up to you.

If you want to know what I personally would do to light that tank if it were mine:
Budget options would be 2 black box fixtures, or I’d look at t5’s.
Maybe Reefbreeders 32” photon? A bit pricier though.

If money weren’t an issue, I’d honestly look at like 3 primes or Kessils. Or I’d do 2 26’s like you suggested, or maybe 2-3 of the noopsyche fixtures. I’ve been eyeballing those.
