My own thought is 'sure, if you have them sitting in your closet not doing anything, why not try?'.

But I wouldn't go out and spend money on that. Better to buy 2 nicrew 150w, it would be the same or cheaper than 3 of those fluval lights, and you can grow anything under those nicrews, even sps.

2 Nicrew 150's is $400
Controller an extra $50

Maybe you meant the 50's which are $100 each.
2 and hyper reef controller $250

The Fluvals are 20 watts and currently $60 each.

I currently have 1 hydra 26, 1 Prime 16hd, and 1 Fluval nano marine. I could get another 16hd and do a 16-26-16 set up?
