Same here till I got in the hobby, they are pretty useful for lots of things with tanks!

You could also spend about $25 and get a WiFi outlet controller. Then you could turn the lights on and off with your phone while you’re away. I don’t yet have an aquarium controller system, but I can pull up a camera to see my tank and control my lights from apps in my phone.

If you use Alexa, you can set this one up on a routine, or control it manually.

There are plenty that you don’t need Alexa to use. Just download their app.
