What size tank do you have now vs what are you thinking of getting? That hanger seems like that's all it is. No ballast or bulbs. Those are the expensive parts

It's an option to consider. Over a longer tank, I would probably run two 165w over one 300w for a little better coverage on the ends. Is the tank a 20 long or a 20 high? Well, for either, the 300w will be longer than the tank, so your going to have a bit of light outside the tank which could annoy some people depending on where the tank is located in your home.

The tank is 20 high. I live by myself and the tank is in my living room so the lighting wouldn't be an issue

I run 1 light for every 2 ft. My tank is 6ft so I have 3 lights. If its under 2 ft and you only need 1 light then I would just go with the 300w

What sucks about that one is I can't get a larger tank than I have now with that though, right? I mean it only goes to 30".

I just got a Finnex 247 Marine seems pretty good we will see. Guy I bought my tank from had a bunch of coral in his tank and this was the light on it.
