@reeferfoxx ... got 4 turbo and 4 astreas in the tank...and a pair of nassaurius. 10 snails all in all ... the only tank inhabitans as of the moment
I guess I don't know how big your tank is? As long as you have 1 astrea per 2 or 3 gallons of water volume, you won't have any issues. Inadequate CUC can be just as bad as no CUC.

@reeferfoxx .... tanks is 90 gallons. i need to add more CUCs i guess. will go to the lfs this weekend to get some more

Astreas produce a lot of poo too, so be sure to get equal amount of Cerith snails to take care of the detritus.

That is a good question. I've run into this a few times locally. It really bugs me too because of the soul purpose of the role they take in our reefs. Nassarius snails take care of detritus mainly in the sandbed. Cerith take care of detritus on the rocks. I don't know of a good alternative except for manually blowing detritus off everyday or every other day.

i hope i can find some here in my place otherwise will go the same route you have..blowing detritus

i don't know what is causing this biofilm in my tank despite a good water movement .... need help again...
