Don't know if this was dumb or not, just glued 3 diff to see what would happen. Do you think one will overtake and smother them out?? Mabey they could intertwine?? They are encrusting to each other, dunno any thought's??

What are the three pieces? One will likely win out. Growth could be inhibited as well as they may expend more energy on surviving rather than growing. Or it could turn out to be the coolest thing ever...lol. Who knows. But my guess is that one will eventually swallow the others - and they all look like nice pieces!

+1 to what Craig said. You may get lucky and wind up with something awesome, but more than likely I see some chemical warfare in your future...

Do you have another piece of each coral? Those are 2 nice stonies and I would hate to see you lose one or both of them. If these are your only pieces, you may want to frag some off of each so you have a backup in case the experiment goes wrong.

Looks like a great experiment. Not sure what would happen but if anything, it'll be a great learning experience. You'll never know, may turn out to be something no one has ever seen before.

There's a slim chance that this will end well, though I suppose anything is possible. Chances are, they will sting/kill one another, or a single coral will dominate, killing the others.

My Red Planet has taken over an LPS so far (not sure what it was, bought it for $5), and is currently encrusting over a montipora capricornis, miami orchid, and has just started growing into my green slimer. I plan to frag the miami orchid (5"+ size) if/when it takes over. It has covered about 3" worth of the miami orchid so far.

It is getting close to a spaghetti acro that I have as well - I'd imagine it will take it over as well.

I plan on splitting if one or the other starts getting stung or overtaken..
