Live sand

So I have course sand/ its crush live rock in my 29 gallon but if I were to buy a bag of live sand from say Petco. Would the tank cycle if I added a 10lbs bag?

You may get a little die off. Keep an eye on nitrates.

Use dry sand. I recently put about 40 pounds in my 90 mantis tank and no issues. I'd read that the "live" sand usually causes a cycle.
