Looking for a UV sterilizer solution

I’m looking for a UV sterilizer that isn’t plumbed in. I’d like to drop it in, in place of one of my filter sock canisters.

I’ve been looking at this one, and it doesn’t seem to have great reviews except directly on IMs website.

Has anyone used this ?


Or does any one have any recommendations for something of a similar form factor, that’s stand alone?

I'm not aware of any highly recommended UV solutions that are drop in. Most have to be external due to the UV light connection. If I were to go with a recommended product without drilling I'd either go with an HOB from AquaUV or just put a pump in the tank, perhaps in an overflow box. Also a siphon pipe in the tank with an external pump. No drilling with minimal in tank but most of equipment is still outside of tank which isn't what you're looking for.

You might be better off with a hob type like shown below with a small pump and an inline valve to regulate the flow. Only plumbing would be flexible tubing. They make an 8 watt version also.
