I'm working on designing a general invert quarantine protocol. Can I get some feedback on this? The goal is to get rid of common fish parasites/diseases: ich, velvet, brooklynella, flukes, uronema, internal parasites, and turbellarians, as well as hydroids in non-fish. Information is taken from Humble.Fish (Humblefish' website!) as well as seahorse.org . The protocol is for both sessile and mobile invertebrates.
- Acquire invertebrates
- Leave fallow for 77 days during which you:
- Dose with metronidazole at a rate of 250 mg/10 gallons for a period of 14 days to remove uronema.
- Remove hydroids via fenbendazole for non-corals, non-Astraeas, and non-starfish.
