My wife's in Boston for meetings and I just reminded her to bring me back one from the city...whenever she comes home that is. lol

I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who has sent cards. The response to this has been way beyond what I even imagined. William has gotten well over 100 postcards so far with no sign of them stopping.

And for a quick update on William, he continues to make tiny improvements every day. It’s hard to see progress from day to day, but looking back over weeks and months there are huge gains. He recently was able to hold a fork and use it to feed himself. The food needs to be cut for him and some food is still beyond the dexterity that he has, but even being able to feed himself for some meals is a great thing.

He has also been able to start using his iPad by propping it up on a pillow on his lap. He can use it for texting (using Siri to help) and for some games and other things that don’t require a high level of accuracy or a fast reaction time.

And of course he still loves seeing all the postcards coming in.

Hey, just wanted to post a quick update for you guys. Overall William is doing really well. He’s continuing to make slow improvements, but they add up over time. My parents recently came to visit and they hadn’t seen William for several months and were amazed at the progress that he’s made in that time.

He’s also continued to get more postcards. From here as well as a few other sources. He’s received more than 200 now including one that was originally postmarked more than 100 years ago:o. It had a 1 cent stamp on it.

Unfortunately we had a bit of a setback last night. He had a fever of 103.5 and had to go to the emergency room at 3am. He’s been admitted to the hospital where they are giving him IV antibiotics for an infection. Hopefully it will clear up soon and he should only be here for a few days. His birthday is Monday the 15th, so with any luck he’ll be back home by then at least:)

Sorry to hear of his current hospital visit. Hopefully, it's something that clears up quickly.

Hey, I just realized that I never posted an update after I mentioned that William was in the hospital. The good news is that he was only hospitalized for a few days and he was able to get home in time for his birthday:)
