Hi I just got done testing my perimeters and everything was good except the KH it’s a little on the low side it was reading right around 6.2 I didn’t check the PH yet because I heard that you should check that before the lights come on I will have to check it tomorrow morning first thing, my coral is doing good but should I start dosing it, I just did a water change this morning, I have a 55 gallon with sump, filter sock, skimmer and macro algae anyone have any ideas what my next step should be?

6.2 is very low if you have coral. I would check my test again to be sure your number is corre ct. I dont know about your water change routine and the alk of the salt you are using. If the salt mix is low in alk you might switch to one thats higher in alk. Maybe just change water more often. We dont know too much about your tank to make have a good answer. Can you tell us more?

So I tested again and it’s in between 8.1-8.4 I think I’m going to look into a new tester it’s a very faint color and it’s hard to see in the basement where my tank is I brought it upstairs and read it so I’m in good shape thanks for the response though

I use the Hanna for Alk. It is pricey, but gives you a number not a color.
