Hi,

I have been using the two parts recipe Alk and Calc for the last four months. The tank has been up and running for two years and I have made water changes twice a month using Aquavitro salt. Never added magnesium.

My Mag is at 1120, measured with Salifert test.

Apart from the Mag stock solution that must be added to keep sulfates balance, can I use the two parts magnesium recipe 7 1/4 Mag Flake and 3/4 Epsom salt? Will It cause an imbalance and should i use the same amount of Alk and Calc I'm dosing dalily?

Thanks everybody in advance!!!

That recipe is perfect for making magnesium boosts.

How low is it?

Wow! Let me say it is a honor to receive an answer from you Mr. Holmes. I have followed tour articles since I began reefing back in 2007.

At the the moment, it is at 1120. Could It cause my LPS to recede?

Many thanks and best regards from Spain!

lol. Thanks.

It would be unusual to be that low and magnesium testing is frequently in error. The Red Sea kit especially has issues. So be sure to confirm it somehow before making a correction that big.

I have tested four times using Salifert, average 1190.

Should I increase my Mag a bit up?
