I know absolutley nothing about SPS and most LPS. What I was wondering is all I ever see is frags. I was wondering what I would have if I bought some frags. Does any of you have any large colonys that started as a frag?

You will notice that most people deal with frags for a couple reasons... 1) they want to keep the large colony 2) propagation healps the natural reef 3) frags are much easier to ship 4) frags are much cheaper than high dollar colony when it come to high quality or LE frags.
Of course there are many other reasons that people could add but those are some that I could think of.

I understand that, but will these small frags grow into large awesome colonys?

It's also a time thing. If you feed LPS they will grow quickly but still take some time. A frag of SPS or LPS won't turn into a colony in a month or two. Cost is the other as others have mentioned.
