Great tanks!

They are really coming along nicely. I love the planted tank....so peaceful looking!
Thank you! It’s pretty nice. Having two fish really doesn’t give much action but that’s ok with me. I chose the tank for these two specifically. And, I discovered some fry the other day as well. It’s still a new setup so I’m not sure there’s enough little critters to munch for too long. The couple I saw had some fat bellies though.

So I think I know what happened to my nem. A friend mentioned that the hoped the frammer didn’t sing the nem, and I had explained how far the frammer is from the nem. I think the Goni stung it. :( here is a very grainy photo of the nem nice and fluffy and the Goni to their right of it. It’s only a few inches. I had no idea. I’m a bad nem keeper. I dunno if it’ll recover. Son of a....

I tried to feed the nem this morning, small pieces of salmon. It’s not grabbing the food :( it’s still stuck to the rock though. Pray I can nurse him. Someone mentioned cutting a tentacle from another nem to feed for the zoox but... idk how to do that.

Moved the nem to a ten gallon. It’s still rather sickly but came detached from the rock once. I picked it up gently and he wanted to hold hands lol. Coaxed it back onto his rock. Fed shrimp this morning. Still no real signs of it eating :( oh well. I’m not giving up til it does.

So, while I try to pick myself up after this I thought I’d give some update to the tank itself. I switched my powerheads from the 660s to the 1050s and added a small 660 behind the rocks. Lots more flow, and they aren’t even up all the way. The Goni is flowing a little better now, both the larger ones are set to wave and does pretty well. I have no cyano but still getting some diatoms and still have hair algae. I’m betting it’s due to my RODI unit. Since changing the resin and cartridges it seems to be doing better. The company sent me two extra 1050s so I contacted to let them know. If they don’t want them back I’ll probably see if I can trade for a return pump. I’m not certain the lights were the issue as the BTA was happy until I brought that Goni home. Anyhow, I’ll try again another day with a larger one. I’d still love to get some more zoas or some montis, or just something. Three corals and two rfas make it so bare. Here’s a pic of the tank as of yesterday.

My test kits came in today. I only ordered phosphate nitrate and kh. My numbers via Salifert were as follows:

I marked Nitrates as 25 but the color was between the 10 and 25 on the color chart, which is a huge jump imo. In any case I’ll be checking weekly and see if the number goes down. I do run a skimmer and I am due a waterchange (Saturday) I think I’ll be looking at some more corals soon. Here’s an update shot of the tank.

That may be user error, as I noticed the regrant would change to the purple but then to blue. I kept dripping til it went pink and stayed. Idk if that’s the right way or what.

Will do, I’ll do so tomorrow. How would the corals react to it being so high? So far everyone seems quite content.

Retested, it’s 9.9.

I watched a video of how to do it. I forgot to shake the reagant and also you have to have the liquid at a certain point as well as the plunger. Lol whoops.

Yeah Saturday I’ll be changing 12 gallons. Still not sure why my nitrates are so high. I don’t overfeed and I’m not overstocked.
