Hi,
I'm using the stream in my 225g with 3/4" glass and I'm finding that the magnet holding up the Tunze is not quite strong enough. Occasionally when the pump goes into pulse mode or if I have the power setting up past 60% there is enough vibration to knock the Tunze off the glass.

Is there a stronger magnet that I can get that is strong enough to hold the pump up well?

I have the same, a 215 with 3/4", you need 2 * 6025.500 for each pump.

Thank you. I looked up the 6025.500 and its over $40 for a set so I'm looking at minimum $80 for just one pump. I'm curious as to why the magnet that comes with the pump isn't rated for 3/4" glass instead we have to pay for an upgrade.

With this pump the magnet field of the magnet holder will affect the levitation causing wobble, if these strong magnets were used on 1/2" or less the pump would vibrate quite a bit. These larger magnets are also less attractive, slightly thicker. There are also cost considerations, we wanted to target a price point of $350 which given the cost of the technology vs comparable pumps is quite low.

I'm having a difficult time finding sellers that carry this magnet. Can you recommend a retailer?

These magnets are now $116 a piece. So it'd be an extra $232 to mount a Tunze stream 3. I had to cancel my order after I learned of this. A powerhead rated for an 800 gallon tank that doesn't support 3/4 inch thick glass? Really?

Not sure where you are getting that price. You need 2 sets of this, about $84 total.

https://www.tunze.com/US/en/products/details.html?user_tunzeprod_pi1[prodid]=6025.500

Because the levitation is affected by external magnets, we included the weaker magnet as 1/2" or 12mm glass is far and away the most common glass used on popular tank sizes. If we included the stronger magnet and it was used on 3/8 or 1/2" glass the pump vibrates as the rotor is pulled to the magnet holder on every pass.

I was looking at the 6025.500 model, which is $116.64. https://www.tunze.com/US/en/catalogue/katalog-ii.html?user_tunzeprod_pi1[predid]=-infoxunter043 https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/6205...Vcyg24hohVki0EC28y0Szc85IJri2IplzoaAmS28P8HAQ .

That is 6205.500, a much bigger magnet for 1" glass.

I believe their price is wrong. I think you can get magnets for $116 for 2 magnets directly thru Roger at Tunze. My friend spoke with him and said BRS pricing is wrong.

Stream 3 needs 2 6025.500, these are much less expensive, BRS seems to have a confusion in the 6205.501 pricing, the price listed is for 6205.500 which is a pair and not a single booster magnet. I am working on contacting them regarding this.

I think I read a post from you saying that only the outside magnet needed to be stronger. Is that true? Is that because a stronger magnetic field on the inside magnet will perturb the propeller shaft?
Just to be clear, we need to replace all four magnets, not just the two on the outside of the glass?

Let’s wait for @rvitko to confirm, but I’m pretty sure I read the same post awhile back that you did... that only the outer magnets need to be replaced for the thicker glass/acrylic.

BRS is wrong, the above posts and BRS are confused between the regular Streams 6105, 6085, etc, which you would only upgrade the outer magnet to 6205.501 for 3/4" hold and Stream 3 which uses two sets of the same magnets used on Nano Streams, these can only be upgraded to 3/4" by 2 pairs of 6025.500. This is what I do day and and day out for 16 years, I am 100% certain I am correct.
