I’ve had them under high and low light with different spectrums. Once stable, they seem to tolerate well as low as 100 and up 500+ PAR. There’s a lot that are collected in deep water also. I’ve seen them down 100+ foot on videos.

@PacificEastAquaculture I

Doing a quick google search, most sources say they can be found anywhere from the surface to 50 meters deep.

It's easier if available to collect nems from near the surface, I think that were most will be collected. The couple I have had seem to do better when more daylight lighting is provided. Not saying mags arent also collected from deeper depths but the above makes most sense to me.

Thing is my tank does not look so blue the camera just picks up the blue note than the whites. By directing my spot directly into the nem it adds more of the daylight spectrum. 12k is not daylight of course hence 6500k is of great help. Few lights these days have 6500k LEDs in them it seems.

Had my mag a week today so thought I would do a new photo of it which I took 10mins ago.
Since putting the 6500k LED spot light on it it's gone from strength to strength and has hot noticeably largerim that short space of time. My clowns are loving it playing in its tentacles and no longer going back and forth to my cat coral which is also slowly recovering. Win win I would say.

Really nice nem. I am always debating with myself if I want one or not. My fear is it will go for a walk about and kill some of my other corals. Maybe one day….

My first Mag I had for many years and never moved from directly under my metal halides light. I am.hoping this one will stay directly under this light, si far apart from growing a bit larger its stayed put.

I think my current 50g limits my options although upgrade is in the not too distant horizon

It takes time... mine normally will before lights out if its happy. I agree with you on
Yeah, I expect it to at some point it seems very happy but it's early days yet. Its feeding and not moved since I put it on its position.

Yesterday after a couple of weeks of my nem.being seemingly happy in its position it decided to move from the back glass to the side glass. Low and behold it positioned itself lower down the glass when many travel up the glass towards more light. Unfortunately my nem decided plonk itself next to my trumpet coral colony stinging and killing about 4 heads. I have since moved the coral to another area of the tank. Still love mags though and so do my clowns.
