We are excited to announce that construction of our new facility expansion has been completed. This renovation has encompassed 2 years and many vision changes throughout the process. What began as simply relocating our existing production and containment systems into a large scale expansion.

THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS!
Our new Invert systems based on total water volume including our original 240 gallon system now exceeds 800 gallons. These systems are monitored for Temp, pH and Salinty and automated using Hydros Launch Controllers. We have Integrated the latest technology and high end equipment to ensure the best environment for the creatures that pass through our care.

Our copepod system utilizes what we have developed as the best culturing process for highest density cultures. During the expansion process we have cultivated and added new species. This brings our current species count to 12 unique and separate species of copepods both benthic (crawlers) and pelagic (Free Swimmers). This diversity separates use from our competitors for a number of reasons. First and foremost is we have sought the species with the highest reproduction rates. Not just for us, but faster reproduction equates to higher probability of colonization in your systems under the right conditions. More species diversity also means different pods serve different purposes from cleaning to constant food source. The variety in size and where they live (sand, rock, or water column) provides for fish in these same areas.

Custom proprietary lighting, enhanced bio security, expanded strains and so much more all went into our new and improved phytoplankton culturing room and system. As our business has grown, so has our demand for phytoplankton. Another set of factors that set us apart from our competition, is rather than making more batches of the same phytoplankton, we do the research and add new strains to increase production capacity. Why? Because every different strain has a unique nutritional and physical profile. One of our strains is heavily used in raising clams, scallops and oysters due to its shape and nutrient composition, another brightens the reds and oranges in our corals. Different sizes, cell composition and levels such as fat, HUFA (highly unsaturated fatty acids), amino acids, lipids and more all have unique qualities and provide different results for our tanks. While others attempt to replicate this, Reef By Steele LLC were the pioneers, there was not a single commercial company offering more than a few of the easiest strains to culture.

Macro Algae, while construction is complete, grow out of some of our macro algae species will take some time before we can offer them for sale. We are currently culturing 12 clean tank cultured species plus our wild diver direct Chaetomorpha.
