I’m not new but I can’t remember the last time I logged in and posted here. I figured this would be a good spot to “reintroduce” myself. If you look in my previous post I started with a small 4 gallon pico on my toolbox at work. I then purchased a 50 gallon for my home. Unfortunately we were hit with financial hardship and the 50 never even made it out of the box. I held onto the 4 gallon at work but with depression the passion just left me. I kept softies and one blasto in it, figured out what it needed and dosed kalk. I literally set it on autopilot and forgot about it other than the occasional feeding and scraping the glass. No water testing no nothing. I didn’t do a water change on it until two days ago. First one in three years. That’s not me trying to brag, just trying to illustrate the head space I was in. I’ll attach a picture of my tank from 2020 and from two days ago. At work we have a “summer help” program where we bring in high school kids and give them a good paying job for the summer. A coworkers daughter joined that program and showed interest in my tank. To the point that she set up her own tank when she went off to college. Since then I’ve fragged some things for her to have. She now has three tanks. She inspired me to to get back to doing what I was before and actually caring about the hobby. I’m currently working on dialing in my parameters. My tank has done well but I know it can be better. MUCH better now that I’m out of that hole. Ma’am, if you’re on here, THANK YOU and I hope your tanks flourish. If you need more frags you know where to find me. There were two points to this post 1) to reintroduce myself 2) depression can be a b$@#%, don’t ever give on yourself. We all love you and I love you all. Here’s to steaming ahead and making my tank what it should have always been.
