First. I know it is skinny. I have had some health issues for a couple weeks and was not able to take care of the tank and today is the first day I have been able to check on everyone and my partner apparently wasnt feeding properly. Lesson learned. Debating giving the whole thing up due to health concerns.

Is it loosing color just due to being malnourished? Or should I be concerned about other issues?

It loses color at night normally, turning almost white since it secretes a mucus layer. Not sure if this is during the day or at night but it basically will turn nearly completely white with a mucus layer at night. They do tend to lose color when they are starving as well if this is during the day. Live baby brine should help. Is it captive bred or wild caught & what size of tank is it in?

Does your Mandarin eat prepared food? Usually they don't require feeding?
