Mangrove Bowl... What do you think?!

Hi all! A little while back I asked for some advice on red mangroves and got some awesome help and sources to check out! About a month ago I created what I am calling the "Mangrove Bowl" and it has become one of my favorite projects in recent years. Simplicity and aesthetically pleasing the bowl has taken storm on IG and seems to have gotten some good feedback on YouTube! I wanted to share this project with you all here to possibly inspire and help anyone out that's thinking out of the box like I did!

Appreciate you! That was one thing I wanted to show was that it totally can be done by anyone! Simplicity at times can be so essential!

Reviving this thread to say awesome job and I would love to imitate this. How did the mangroves do long term? With so many in that one bowl, do they outgrow it? Does trimming the canopy keep the roots from overcrowding everything and overtaking the bowl? Was window light good enough to keep the trees healthy or did you ever supplement?

I think I want to experiment with substrate, and some lava rock as hardscape but do a bowl very similar with these shrimp. Cool idea!

Mine is 6 months old. Red and Black mangroves with a betta, doing very well. About 10 gallons, organic potting soil, gravel cap, weekly WC only, heater for winter…very simple. Obviously mine is freshwater….
